AKTO has become Greece’s market-leading College of Art & Design through four key qualities.
Pioneering spirit
AKTO has, for four decades, been a pioneering institution. AKTO
created Greece's first undergraduate degree courses in
Photography, 3D Animation & Multimedia Productions,
Cartoon-Sketch-Comics and Fashion Design, long before
these disciplines were introduced in public universities and other
private colleges.
AKTO also holds the only validated
Product Design course in the country.
Comprehensiveness
AKTO is also distinguished by its comprehensiveness in the field
of Design.
No other public or private college or university in Greece offers such a broad array of Design-oriented degree courses as AKTO. Our accredited courses are as follows:
AKTO also offers three degree programmes resulting in an AKTO
degree certificate:
Flexibility
This breadth of choice is complemented by an enormous degree of
flexibility. Students may study full-time or
part-time, at campuses in Athens and Thessaloniki,
or from home. In this way AKTO remains accessible to professionals
across Greece wishing to re-train, re-orient or re-invest in
themselves, as well as to High School graduates. AKTO also offers a
broad programme of seminar-based studies for the
professional community, or undergraduates wishing to specialise in
a particular direction. Students may take as many elective
modules as their schedules allow, regardless of what
discipline they are enrolled in. In this way, AKTO offers its
students a possibility of cross-fertilisation found nowhere else in
higher education in Greece.
Professional ethos
AKTO's teaching philosophy over the years has been to promote
Design-oriented disciplines through professionals in their
respective fields. AKTO's faculty consists almost entirely of
expert practitioners who are in a position to track changing trends
in the Greek and international market, and endow students both with
the rigorous academic learning required of the undergraduate and
postgraduate degree programmes, and an awareness of professional
practice and integrity. Our Career Office is a key
component of the alumni benefits scheme,
channelling almost a thousand jobs each year to our approximately
400 graduates.
