Student animation work
Animation is the art of breathing life
through movement and sound into an inanimate figure.
Animators are effectively film directors without actors,
manipulating stop-motion, hand drawn or computer generated subjects
to create a virtual reality. Like film directors, they are
responsible for scripting, lighting and directing their subjects,
creating a production design, editing and post-production
effects.
Multimedia productions are digital marriages of
sound and image elements set in a user interface and designed for
use on computers. Multimedia producers edit text, visual and sound
elements and arrange them in an information architecture that best
suits the end-user.
Animation and multimedia production are indispensable
professions to the television, film, video gaming, music,
multimedia and advertising industries. They are constantly gaining
ground in the publishing, architecture and retail industries.
3D Animation and Multimedia Productions is a three-year course of study resulting in a Bachelor's Degree from Middlesex University. This is a ground-breaking course. When launched in 1993, it was the first Animation and Multimedia degree available both in Greece and at Middlesex University. Today AKTO still leads the field in Greece with a fully equipped television studio and computer labs loaded with a complete animation software suite. A desktop computer is available for each full-time student in this discipline, with complimentary software tutorials every Saturday.
