Graphic Design is the art of effective visual communication and, ultimately, visual persuasion.
Graphic Design integrates elements of visual art, typography,
photography and graphics to create a compelling message. In the
process, it discovers and builds an identity for the source of that
message.
Graphic Design is an indispensable profession to the publishing,
web design and advertising industries. It has specialist
applications in industries such as television, film, architecture,
industrial design and photography, and it affects every corner of a
market economy and democracy through branding and marketing.
AKTO's [Graphic Design graduates] have been successful in the
newspaper, magazine, book publishing, web design, advertising and
printing industries, as well as in corporations with their own
creative departments.
The Graphic Design Bachelor’s Degree is a four-year course offering the possibility of a Diploma of Higher Education after the successful completion of three years.
As a rule, students begin with a Foundation Year, though this
can, occasionally, be omitted upon demonstration of exceptional
ability or prior experience.
