Interior Architecture is the art of designing an inhabited space and its furnishings to address human needs in a way that combines beauty with efficiency.
Interior Architects use their knowledge of construction
materials, the properties of light and spatial psychology to
visualise fully synthesised concepts of living space, workspace and
commercial space.
Interior Architecture is an indispensable profession to
the architecture, construction and furniture industries. It has
specialist applications in industries such as tourism, retail and
filmed entertainment.
AKTO’s [Interior Architecture graduates] have been successful in all of these industries as salaried employees or self-employed business owners.
The Interior Architecture Bachelor's Degree is a four-year
course offering the possibility of a Diploma of Higher Education
after the successful completion of three years. As a rule, students
begin with a Foundation Year, though this can, occasionally, be
omitted upon demonstration of exceptional ability or prior
experience.
