AKTO created Greece’s first photography degree programme four decades ago.
In that time the programme has deepened its theoretical and
historical content while evolving to include the latest
photographic technology and commercial practice.
AKTO's photography BA stands on three pillars:
|
An in-depth education in the major artistic movements and
photographers of the last 150 years and how they affected the
photographic image.
|
A thorough training in the technical means available to
today's photographer from analogue and digital camera types to
digital image and video processing software packages.
|
A comprehensive grounding in the methods of the commercial and
advertising photography industry.
|
AKTO aims to produce graduates who are creatively
independent, technically superb and professional.
AKTO photography graduates have found gainful employment as self-employed professionals and as photographers and image editors in the television, advertising and entertainment industries.
AKTO’s Photography programme is a three-year course of study resulting in a Bachelor of Arts degree from Middlesex University.
